Somewhere Out There....

Arts & Entertainment

The Edenton Little Theater recently came out of retirement. After about 15 years of dormancy, the members came forward to be counted, and elected officers. Even before that, the members became excited and began planning a production of Neil Simon’s “Plaza Suite,” in October. I plan to direct the play. I say “plan” because at the moment we have an incomplete cast. All the roles, save one, are filled. The exception is a much needed attractive young woman in her twenties or thirties to play the paramour in Act One. A small but significant role.

Edenton Little Theater to Mount New Production

Arts & Entertainment The Edenton Little Theater is back in the spotlight, after a very long intermission. The current vice president, Brewster King, announced this week that the group, which became inactive more than a decade ago, is in the midst of a reformation and already planning a production.
"We've been interested for some time in getting the Edenton Little Theater up and running again, " said King, " Quite a few people have moved into the area in recent years, and many may have prior theater experience. The long-time members are very excited about getting those people involved too."
King also introduced Edenton newcomer Carolyn Pastorek during the meeting. Pastorek moved to Edenton in March from Columbia, SC, and brings with her quite a few years of community theater experience as an actor, director and production member. She will direct the first production planned for October, 2009.
